This complete multi-purpose roof rack is a perfect fit for the 2018+ GMC Terrain with factory installed raised side rails. Raised rails are factory installed roof attachments that run from front to back on the outer edges of the vehicle's roof. This fit includes models with a sunroof, there is no interference with the full operation of the sunroof.
The system includes the four towers and two crossbars as detailed below, locks are recommended and sold separately in matched sets, see related products.
The Yakima TimberLine tower has rubber bases that rest directly on the side rail, the foot adds only 3 inches of height above the side rail and provides maximum load capacity above and beyond the width of the side rails. A thin, rubberized stainless steel band wraps under the vehicle's side rail for a strong protective grip.
The Yakima TimberLine tower is easy to assemble and install. Slide the tower onto the load bar, then wrap the band around the side rail, tighten by turning the fasteners.
Yakima JetStream load bars are strong, quiet and aerodynamic providing maximum capacity, no whistling or howling and low wind drag. The aluminum BoxBeam construction has a dedicated slot for tower attachment and a separate t-slot track for mounting certain carriers.
The weight capacity for this base roof rack is up to 165 pounds, evenly distributed. The load bar length is 50 inches. Distance from the front load bar to the rear is variable, with a recommended spread of 32 inches and a maximum spread of 37 inches, center to center.
