The Rocky Mounts Tandem Mount R4 for two seater bikes allows the front wheel to be removed and mounted onto the fork mount from the ground! Once the fork is clamped in, lift the rear wheel onto the tray, and voila! This way you will only have to lift half the bike's weight at one time!  Switching to a single bike could not be easier. Simply turn a wing nut and the slide the tray forward, it stows away cleanly and will now accommodate your other bikes.

Fit Note
This carrier includes Rocky Mount's Euro Tandem Kit to attach the carrier to Thule AeroBlade load bars.  Depending on the bar length, when you try and pivot the R4, your Tandem's chain rings may hit the side of the car negating this feature. The R4 will hold your tandem, but you may lose the pivoting feature.  If you have 5 inches of bar extending past the foot then you should have plenty of clearance.
