Thule North America has launched its first mobile application, targeting mobile phone consumers and with a fit guide at m.thule.com. Date added: 08/23/2010 Küat Issues Voluntary Recall on Select NV Racks

Springfield, MO – August 19, 2010 - Küat Racks, makers of lightweight, stylish and easy-to-use racks, announced a voluntary recall on select Küat NV 2 Bike Carriers (N101, N102). The NV racks involved in the recall are limited to 450 units that shipped from the Küat DC between November 1, 2009 and March 24, 2010. Küat has discovered a rare defect in the front tire ratchet arm that may cause the affected product to fail.

As a precaution, Küat asks owners of Küat NV racks that were shipped from Küat from October 15, 2009 to July 31, 2010 to stop using their rack until it is determined if replacement parts are needed. Owners of affected products will receive appropriate replacement parts free of charge.

“Küat apologizes for any inconvenience this causes,” said Justin Kosar, Operations Manager of Küat Racks. “This voluntary recall reflects our commitment to ensure the safety and satisfaction of our customers.
Next steps:

Contact Küat Racks toll free at 1(877)822-5828 or email recall@kuatinnovations.com. For the fastest resolution, go to www.kuatracks.com and fill out the Recall Form. This will allow the Küat team to determine if the rack is affected and to quickly provide necessary replacement parts.

Date added: 05/31/2010 Mini Cooper with Thule Aero Foot Roof Rack

Here's a Mini Cooper with a Thule Aero Foot roof rack installed using Thule LB50 load bars and the Thule Fit Kit 2145. This fit will eventually be replaced by the Thule Traverse Foot using the 1366 Fit Kit. This new fit will require the Traverse Short Roof Adapter (#487) in order to increase the cross bar spread from 17.75 inches to 27.5 inches. Without this adapter the 17.75 inch spread can carry skis and snowboards, the adapter is required to carry bikes, kayaks, boxes and other long loads. See Thule's fit guide for details.
