The Saris 999S - B.A.T. Spare Tire Rack is a great way to transport two bicycles on Jeeps and other vehicles with rear mounted spare tires, check the Saris Fit Guide to confirm. The unique over sized tubular constructions compliments the tough off road look of 4x4 Jeeps. The rack will fit a wider range of tire sizes using a heavy-duty bracket that fits behind the spare tire and is held securely in place using the spare's lug nuts. Please note that the mounting plates come in two sizes and must be purchased separately. Special sizing instructions are noted below. Choose Correct Mounting Plate: Take a measurement of the rim/tire depth, here's how: 1. Place a straight edge against the tire. 2. Measure through the hub center to the spare tire mounting bracket.
If the wheel depth (distance from the spare tire mounting place to outside of tire) is between 2-1/2" and 5-1/4", use Mounting Plate 996A. If the wheel depth is between 5" and 7-3/4" use Mounting Plate 996B.
