Saris Thelma - 2 Bike Rack - For 1-1/4 or 2 Inch Hitch

The Saris Thelma is a new direction in the platform rack category.  Saris product designer Fabio Pedrini departed from the hook on frame or hook on wheel designs to create a whole new style.  Fabio designed the Thelma with an over sized front wheel cradle to take the place of any hooks. 

The cradle is molded from high impact plastic with a molded in aluminum back bone.  A rear wheel cradle pivots to self adjust to different length bikes.  These cradles are attached to a tubular steel frame that allow one to stand within the rack rather than leaning over trays to load.  Bikes load up fast:  set the front wheel into the front wheel cradle, the rear wheel into the rear wheel cradle, ratchet strap both wheels and that's it. 

This elegant design is also very light weight at only 26 pounds making less easy for one person remove and carry away for storage between uses.  If you choose to leave the rack mounted, simply fold down the front wheel cradles and rotate the rack to the stowed position. 

The Thelma fits most mountain bikes with 26 inch tires and road bikes with 700c tires, known exceptions are listed below.  The rack supports bikes that weigh up to 35 pounds each.  For kid's bikes with 20 inch tires, Saris offers a small bike front wheel cradle, product code 4231.  The cradle can be purchased separatey to replace a standard front wheel cradle or it is included with the Saris Thelma 3 bike carrier product code 4203J.

The Saris Thelma works with most 700c road bikes and 26 inch wheeled mountain bikes. Known exceptions:
• Very small road bikes with <72.5 degree head tubes.
• Road bikes with deep bladed aero forks.
• MTBs with rearward facing brake bridge.
• Bicycles with front fenders.
• Max wheel base is 44 inches
• End of vehicle's hitch must be flush with bumper for rack to fold up.
